Ted Bundy
Ted grew up with his mother and father in Vermont. His biological father, who was an Air Force veteran, was unknown to his son throughout his life. Shortly after his birth, Ted and his mother moved back to the home of his grandparents in Philadelphia. While growing up, Ted was led to believe that his grandparents were his parents and his natural mother was his older sister.
Ted Bundy reined terror across the United States between 1974 and 1978. There were an estimated 36 victims that ted Bundy killed and badly beat and raped. Stephen Michaud and Hugh Aynesworth in the book “The Only Living Witness” suggest that perhaps 40 young women may have fallen prey to Bundy, but only Bundy knew for sure. It is a number that Bundy has carried with him to his grave.
In nearly all of his cases he had badly beaten them and sexually assaulted them. Some luckily survived but suffering the damages that would affect them in later life. His first act was in 1974 where he badly beat her and rammed a bed rod up her vagina, she luckily survived thanks to her friends finding her and rushing her to the hospital but damaged her for life. But in comparison on his second attack it was reported that the victim’s parents and roommate tried to find her but couldn’t, only blood stains on her bed and a change of clothes missing.

No one really knew why he did it but I think that from what happened in his early childhood when he finally found out the truth about his family that he must have developed psychological distress and issues that were obviously never solved. He could of reacted to get some attention which he never got of his step father, or he could of done it because of the way he was brought up.
From the gruesome back story of Ted I can link this I with the project that I am now about to create by exploring all aspects of murder and gore that I can interpret (to an extent) into my work. This connotes myself researching different horror stories and other famous horrific stories to get a good glimpse of how to portray a scary horror film. From the work on ted I have learnt how many people have reacted to these killing and how the press has been outraged. From this I could possibly include a sense of fear into the audience’s eyes by using real life stories, and relating back to them in a subliminal way, almost to revamp the stories to fit in with my horror film. Making something real and relating to this is one ways in which film use these horror conventions to create a more realistic effect.
